🌟 SEND and Inclusive Provision at Heath Fields Primary School
At Heath Fields Primary School, we believe every child is unique and full of potential. We are proud to be an inclusive school where all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), are supported to thrive, learn, and grow together.
What is SEND?
SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. A child may have SEND if they have a learning difficulty or disability that makes it harder for them to learn than most children of the same age. This might include challenges with:
- Communication and interaction
- Cognition and learning
- Social, emotional, and mental health
- Sensory or physical needs
Our Inclusive Approach
Inclusion means ‘everyone is welcome’. We make sure that all children, regardless of their needs or abilities, feel valued and are given the right support to succeed. Here’s how we do it:
- Personalised Support: We tailor learning to meet individual needs, using strategies and resources that help each child access the curriculum.
- Skilled Staff: Our teachers and teaching assistants are trained to support a wide range of needs and work closely with families and specialists.
- Positive Environment: We foster a caring, respectful, and nurturing atmosphere where we support every child to feel safe and confident.
- Working Together: We believe in strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils.
Celebrating Every Achievement
We celebrate progress in all its forms—big or small. Whether it’s learning a new word, making a friend, or mastering a new skill, every step forward is a success.
