At Heath Fields Primary School, we offer a wide range of before and after school clubs throughout the academic year. These clubs provide fantastic opportunities for children to develop new skills, make friends, and enjoy learning outside the classroom.
Most of our clubs are sporting activities and may vary across the year. Popular clubs include:
Basketball
Hockey
Netball
Tennis
These clubs are a great way for children to stay active and engaged.
In addition to sports, we also offer a variety of other after-school clubs, such as:
Choir
Clay Modelling Club
Most clubs are free of charge and are run by school staff.
Some clubs are delivered by external providers and may carry a fee. For example, Soccerstars UK runs a football club after school on Thursdays, which involves a charge.
If your child is interested in joining a club, please speak to the relevant member of staff. Information and sign-up details are sent home with interested children prior to the club starting.
We’re proud to take part in a wide range of sporting competitions throughout the year, giving children the opportunity to represent Heath Fields in local events. Competitions we regularly enter include:
Football (including girls' football)
Basketball
Dodgeball
Hockey
Tag Rugby
Netball
Tennis
Children are selected to join school teams through:
Trial sessions (e.g. after-school football trials)
From performance in PE lessons
Through participation in before and after school clubs
We aim to include as many pupils as possible. Where demand is high, we often enter more than one team into a competition, but it is not always possible to include all who are interested. We are limited to the numbers that make up a team or squad.
Every lunchtime, a coach from Soccerstars UK runs organised games and sporting activities such as football, basketball, and dodgeball. These sessions are open to all children, with different year groups scheduled on different days.
Children are welcome to join in freely and enjoy structured, active play during their lunch break.
